Clair and Cleo Pilling Painting

 

Ever wish you could recreate a painting of your ancestors in color? Or maybe you don’t have any good quality pictures of your ancestors? No worries! Kelly’s most recent project he did was to recreate a painting of Clair and Cleo Pilling in their youth. 

 

Clair had Palmeno horses and lived in Canada near a mountain called Old Chief. Cleo’s favorite colors were yellow and brown, and she was generally simple in how she dressed. With this information and provided pictures, Kelly created a scene of Clair and Cleo in the mountains near their first homestead in vibrant color. 

 

Using his son and daughter-in-law as references, here is what he did.
